Drug-Induced Hyperthermia in the Prehospital Setting
Dr Gurpreet Jutley, Poisons & Internal Medicine consultant will be talking about the medical emergency, Drug-Induced Hyperthermia in the Prehospital Setting.
In this lecture, we will discuss the recognition and management of drug-induced hyperthermia, with particular emphasis on serotonin toxicity and its potentially life-threatening complications. We will examine management through the lens of thermodynamics, focusing on how to arrest further heat generation, maximise heat dissipation and deliver effective supportive care in the prehospital setting.

Pre-hospital Emergency Anaesthesia (PHEA) Workshop
Members or the West Midlands CARE Team will deliver a practical PHEA workshop focusing advanced airway equipment, kit dumps and drugs used.

Target Audience
Any person from any background that delivers pre-hospital emergency care at any level, from first aiders though to advanced practitioners would benefit from the lecture content.
