Lecture - Why the British public won’t attempt CPR and how we can change that
CARE Team junior member Phil Devitt will give a brief overview of his research into barriers for bystander CPR and how we may be able to improve bystander CPR rates.

Lecture - Paramedic-3
The PARAMEDIC-3 trial has recently been published in the New England Journal of Medicine. It looked at the most effective way to treat someone suffering an out of hospital cardiac arrest in terms of administration of medications via intraosseous versus intravenous route. Josh Miller, WMAS research paramedic, will deliver a session that gives an overview of the trial and its results, discussing how it may impact practice.

Workshop - Airway & Breathing Management
Our popular workshop on airway and breathing management is back!
CARE team volunteers will be on hand to pass on some tricks and tips in areas of airway and breathing management. There will also be an opportunity to get hands on with some equipment used by Enhanced Care Teams (ECTs). We've taken your feedback on board and will allocate more time to less stations, as a result we'll focus on the less frequently used skills and equipment. We will still aim to have basic equipment on hand for those that would like guidance/practice on those items/procedures/techniques.
Airway - i-gels/ETs via direct and video laryngoscope (McGrath)
Breathing - Manual (BVM/Mapleson) and mechanical (Parapac 310) ventilation

Target Audience
Any person from any background that delivers pre-hospital emergency care at any level, from first aiders though to advanced practitioners would benefit from the lecture content.

Refunds - Workshops
For Sessions events that feature workshops, there are no refunds within 72 hours of the start time. This is based on no-show rates as high as 35% when we have had a waiting list of people that could not attend. It takes significantly more effort and volunteer hours to organise and run a workshops Session.
