PHEM in Wartime - Innovation Under Fire
Nathan Hazlehurst (@n_rh1992), PhD History student, University of Salford. Emergency Planning Manager, Worcestershire County Council.
The work of Casualty Services in the Second World War has been all but forgotten, but can be seen as the birth of pre-hospital emergency medicine in the United Kingdom. In this talk, the service will be explored, showing the parallels with modern practice, and where innovation was welcomed and is still in use today.
Immunology: Anaphylaxis
David Kane, WMCT Clinical Support and British Army Paramedic.
This talk will serve as an overview of anaphylaxis with a comparison to a healthy immune response.
Target Audience
Any person from any background that delivers pre-hospital emergency care at any level, from first aiders though to advanced practitioners would benefit from the panel discussion, but any member of the public is more than welcome to attend the night as the quiz is not medically focused.
CPD Certificate
See form on the night. Expected within 48 hours of the event.
